Lync 2010 ==> Skype for Business

Hi

We are migrating from Lync 2010 to SFB 2015 and I understand that there is no migration path.  We are only in a trial state on 2010 at the moment so this is no big problem.

However - what I cant find is how this works with the topology for Lync 2010.  Do I need to completely decommission Lync 2010 (i.e. remove topology then uninstall) then install SFB, or can I run the two safely along side each other, or absorb the Lync 2010 topology into SFB?

Any assistance will be appreciated.

Kind Regards

Steve

Hi,

You'll first need to install a S4B Server pool.
Then migrate all users and settings from Lync 2010 to S4b (This is identical to the Lync 2010 to Lync 2013 upgrade, see https://technet.microsoft.com/library/jj205369.aspx).

After completing the migration you can remove the 2010 server from the Topology and uninstall Lync 2010.
